How to maximize pdf file compression (free)
Recently need to upload pdf files to the online system, the requirement must be 1M. Searching the Internet for a long time, online pdf converter merge compress did not find a suitable method, most of the existing methods have the following two problems:
(1) with the help of online or client tools, convert merge pdf to single pdf most need to pay, or compressed files have watermark;
(2) It is difficult to achieve the required compression degree by directly using methods such as PDFasset, and the compression degree of such methods is only about 20%.
So I started struggling with the need to reduce the file size by about a third of the size of the source file and didn't want to use paid software. word to pdf converter free download offline When I think about it, shrinking a document is just an attempt to reduce clarity, so I take God's action.
Required software: PDFasset Microsoft's own picture reader; WordQQ screenshot function
The steps are as follows:
Step 1: Open the pdf file and save it as a PNG image. The following pop-up window appears, click Settings and adjust the resolution. Note that the resolution directly affects the compression degree of the file, because I want to compress the file to a large extent, so I choose the third resolution directly.
At this point, you can skip to step 5 if the file allows without too many diagrams; however, my file has color images, so there is a message saying extraction failed.
Step 2: Display a message that some pages cannot be saved as PNG. At this point, click "Ignore all such problems in this document" and then finish the extraction. Some pages are extracted separately from a single page number and saved in PNG format.
Step 3: further processing failed to extract the page. Then, for those pages that can not be successfully extracted by saving, use QQ's long screen capture function to capture and save directly to a PDF file. However, because such pages often contain color drawings, screenshots are usually robust and large.
Step 4: Reduce the screenshot file. On the basis of the third step, open the picture with the picture reader that comes with Win10, select resize, and then click "Custom Size". Finally, select the size of the picture as needed, and pay attention to the "Keep vertical and horizontal ratio" check box.
Step 5: open a word document, paste the images in order, and save them as PDF. All is done, and if you still don't get the compression you need, resize the resolution in steps 1 and 4.
