What is a VPC

1. Introduction to VPC

For example, an IPsec VPN can be a tunnel that connects to a user's private network over the Internet, and an mPLS VPN more directly allocates VRF isolation to different users in an operator's PE device. From a service perspective, if a VPC refers only to a network, then the concept of it and VPN is the same. Therefore, virtual private cloudin terms of the services provided by a public cloud, a VPC should be understood as a collection of isolated resources available to users.

Users can create one or more VPCS on the public cloud, one for each department. Create VPC connections for the departments to be connected.

At the same time, users can also use a VPN to connect their internal data center to the public cloud (a hybrid cloud) on the VPC.

Regardless of the use case, VPC allows users to design how to store their data on the public cloud in a more intuitive way.

From the perspective of technology development, a VPC is a Layer 2 network exclusively provided by users.

2. Functions of VPC

Users can easily manage and configure internal networks in a VPC, ensuring network changes quickly and securely. In addition, users can customize access rules for elastic cloud servers within and between security groups to enhance the security protection of elastic cloud servers.

3. VPC applicable groups

VPCS are designed for customers who are interested in taking advantage of cloud computing, but have concerns about certain aspects of the cloud. To meet customers' needs, many public cloud providers have designed VPCS that provide a portion of the provider's public infrastructure, but with private cloud servers, virtual networks, cloud storage, and private ID addresses reserved for VPC customers.

In general, a VPC is a cloud computing service, sometimes referred to as a "private cloud," but there is a nuance because a VPC is a private cloud delivered through third-party vendor infrastructure rather than enterprise IT infrastructure.

A virtual private cloud provides an isolated, private virtual network environment for cloud resources such as cloud servers, cloud containers, and cloud databases. You have complete control over your own private network. A VPC provides diversified functions to flexibly manage cloud networks, including creating subnets, setting security groups and network ACLs, managing routing tables, and applying for flexible public IP addresses and bandwidths. In addition, a VPC can be connected to a traditional data center through services such as private cloud lines and VPNS to flexibly integrate resources and build a hybrid cloud network.

VPC uses information network virtualization technology, link redundancy, distributed system gateway management cluster, and multi-AZ deployment to ensure enterprise network security, stability, and high availability.
