The GIST Scholarship

GIST is well known for its rigorous research output in science and technology, and ranks fourth globally for the number of citations per faculty member. They offer a comprehensive financial package and take international students in their master's or PhD programs.

The Ministry of Science and Technology has joined forces with a university to create program for incoming students. The best part about the program is that you can start immediately, have your monthly stipend starting at 120,000 won (≈US$86), and the deadlines are on Oct. 14th 2022.

ADB's Japan Scholarship Programme

With the ADB-JSP award, you can pursue a postgraduate degree in any of the nine countries that have partnering institutions. The scholarship is only for studies in science and technology, economics and business.

To qualify for the scholarship, international students must meet certain conditions, such as two years of work experience and being within the age range of 18-35. However, the average age is between 25-27. The ADB grants the scholarship to about 300 students annually and recipients are required to contribute back to their country after graduation.

Applying for a programme can typically be expected around November 2022 - February 2023.

If you're lucky enough to be selected as a SINGA recipient, you can pursue your PhD abroad free of charge. The scholarship gives PhD applicants up to four years of free education along with a stipend and travel grant.
